Before you make any definite plans we encourage you to learn about the pre-marriage process at Reedley Mennonite Brethren Church.

At Reedley Mennonite Brethren Church We Celebrate Christian Marriage. We believe God established the sanctity of marriage and intends the bond between husband and wife to last a lifetime. In following these beliefs, Reedley Mennonite Brethren Church has the responsibility to do everything possible to walk alongside every couple getting married to achieve a permanent marriage bond and establish a strong Christian home.



Things To Keep In Mind:

• Couples requesting marriage at RMBC are expected to enter into our marriage preparation program.
• One of RMBC’s pastors is responsible to oversee and approve each wedding ceremony performed.
• RMBC’s marriage preparation program consists of a premarital inventory and at least six sessions with a mentor couple.
• Remarriages are handled on a case-by-case basis by a RMBC pastor, (559) 638-8123.
• Information regarding the use of RMBC’s facilities is available in the brochure Wedding Policies and Guidelines included in the Wedding Application packet available at the church office.
• An RMBC wedding coordinator will be assigned to assist you in your preparation.



Frequently Asked Questions About Getting Married At Reedley Mennonite Brethren Church:

• Must I be a member of RMBC to get married here?
No, however we prefer you be a regular attender for at least six months. Special situations are to be discussed and approved by an RMBC pastor.

• Do we have to be engaged to begin the premarital process?
No, there are actually several things you can do now such as taking the FOCCUS premarital inventory and beginning the ’Before You Say I Do’ workbook.

• Can we reserve the date we want?
Your wedding date can be tentatively reserved through the church office and will be finalized on the church calendar after you have been assigned a mentor couple, taken the FOCCUS inventory, and met with the Minister of Pastoral Care.

• Does it take a full year to complete the process?
No in fact most couples are able to complete the premarital process in less than six months.

• Is the premarital process about ”jumping through hoops”?
There is no jumping here! The steps have been developed to help you grow in your relationship. “It is time well spent”. For many couples, it confirms they’re on the right track. For others, it reveals areas of growth where couples need to take time to strengthen their relationship before the wedding.
